Why Two way speech?

Communication happens Two Ways, both the speaker and the listener have to take an active part in order to communicate effectively. When working with a client and their family Janice takes time to understand which part of the message is breaking down.  Is the communication breakdown occurring in the expressive message, the receptive message, in the nonverbal language, or is there a larger diagnosis that is impacting a client’s receptive, expressive, and nonverbal communication?

Janice also approaches therapy in Two Ways.  She breaks down speech and language into its basic pieces, pinpoints the foundation skills that are missing, and helps buildup these skills.  At the same time she looks at at the big picture and the overall goals of the client and the family.   This includes understanding how the client can use his/her strengths to improve on weaknesses and live up to his/her maximum potential.
